There are two kinds of list: personal email addresses of teachers, and lists of general school email addresses (the generic lists).

Emailing your own list
The most valuable list you have is your list of enquirers and customers, and you should be emailing it regularly. We can help you do this for a very low cost. http://www.emails.gs/ownlists.html
There are two types of email addresses used by schools:
- Personal email lists (which go directly into the in-box of the individual to whom they are mailed) and
- Generic lists (which go to the school office, amidst all the spam, emails from parents and other adverts.)

Personal lists are much better performing than generic lists, as you would expect, but also will cost more to send out because of the research that goes into building and maintaining such lists. But you can select teachers by school type and by the subject they teach, which means your emails can be very targeted. In some cases we also have lists of teachers who subscribe to our weekly educational newsletters – these are known as Subscriber Lists.

Teachers find the pages on this blog by searching on Google and other search engines for key words and through the link from www.schools.co.uk – a site very widely accessed by teachers – not least because of its prime address.
When you undertake an email campaign with Hamilton House in which we send out your emails, we will put your text on the Schools News Service site at www.blog.schools.co.uk without extra charge, and it will stay there for at least a year.
It is impossible to say just how many extra hits an individual advertisement will get because of this listing, but we are seeing many announcements getting between 500 and 1000 extra hits. These are of course in addition to the hits you get from the email that we send out on your behalf.

Among the most popular are:
A Velocity campaign. Through this you contract with Hamilton House for us to undertake several services for you each month in return for a monthly fee. You also get all the marketing guidance and support you want, including (if you wish) the writing of your campaign, writing of website pages, postal mailings etc etc.
Because of the variety of possibilities with a Velocity campaign it is hard to say exactly how much you will pay for your promotions, but 4p to 5p per email is common. For more details please see http://www.velocity.ac/education.html
Full list mailings. If you take a complete personal email list, rather than one part of it, the price in many cases drops by around 30%. Choose the personal list type you want and look for the price in the first column, to see the discount you will get for using the full list. Click here.
School holiday rates. If you email during the half term or main school holidays the rate you pay will be cut by 50%. Many teachers now access their personal school email accounts in the holidays while preparing lessons at home, while many senior managers will be in school using the accounts there. What’s more, because the personal lists are so rarely used most teachers have only one or two emails in the account on returning to school after the holiday – making this a very low cost way of emailing teachers for the start of term.
First time user rate. If you have never used our teacher email service before you are entitled to a 30% discount on your first promotion – but you must ask for the discount at the time of booking the mailing.
Stand By. Stand by allows you to book email campaigns on the Subscription lists or the Personal lists at 50% discount.
To gain the discount you need to book in your mailing, sending us your copy and your payment for the mailing. Since with all these lists each teacher only receives one mailing per week we will send out your mailing in the first available mailing that doesn’t have a booking already – with the guarantee that it will go out within the next two school weeks, and won’t go out during the holiday period.
